Bonding agents are used for bonding concrete repair mortars to existing cementitious or steel substrates and providing additional corrosion protection to reinforcement steel, especially in areas of low concrete cover and in the presence of chlorides. Exposed reinforcement steel bars should be properly prepared and protected with anti-corrosion slurry to further enhance the repair process.

Why Use Bonding Agents?

Compared with traditional joining techniques such as screwing or welding, components do not need to be drilled or heated during the bonding process. Also, different types of material can be bonded and sealed against liquid ingress, which is an essential requirement in lightweight construction.

The adhesives commonly found in the market either offer short assembly times and thus cure faster, or they have long assembly times and long curing times that can be accelerated using heat.
