Britam Tower is a commercial building in Nairobi owned by British-American Investments Company (Britam). With a height of 195 meters above ground and 32 floors, the building features a prismic shape that starts as a square footprint and ends with a two sided roof. At 200 meters, Britam Tower is now the tallest building in East and Central Africa.
Project Requirements
For the customer the most important point was to get technical support throughout the project and approved products.
Sika Solutions
For such a high construction, the façade joints need to have a fire proof level of 2 hours.
Sika has proposed the elastic joint sealant Sikasil®-670 Fire which has a fire resistance up to 4 hours according to EN 1366-4.
In addition SikaCeram®-201, a high-performance cementitious adhesive has been used for laying tiles on floors.
